My preferred wines are usually red wines. White wines and many fruit wines tend to be too sweet for my tastes. There can be dry versions of whites but they tend to come off as a little more chemically tasting. Red wines are often smoother and easier to drink. They also tend to be more on the dry side than the sweet side. There can also be sweet red wines and have a much sharper taste than the sweet white wines.
My favorite wine to drink is one that is made from Minnesota grown grapes. It is the Frontenac Gris (pronounced: gree). The Frontenac Gris is classified as a white wine even though the wine itself is an amber color. Frontenac Gris is made from the Frontenac Gris grape, a mutation of the red Frontenac Grape. The Frontenac Gris grape is a pinkish/gray color which is why it is named Gris.
