Our interest in wine first began when I took my now-husband to our first winery on his 22nd birthday. We had no clue what to expect. We got a whole tour of the vineyard, wine fermentation room, bottling area and the barrel room. We learned about the creation and use of cold-climate grapes. It was very educational yet enjoyable. We also loved the atmosphere and the peaceful, secluded setting. After the tour we each had several different wine tastings.  From the very first sips we realized we had very different tastes in wine. For each wine we started discussing all the different aspects that we enjoined or didn’t appreciate.  Within a few months we had visited all the nearby wineries (Chankaska Creek Ranch and Winery, Morgan Creek Vineyards, Indian Island Winery, and Javens Family Vineyard and Winery).  We were married at one of our favorite wineries in 2016 and even visited several wineries on our honeymoon. Traveling to local Minnesota wineries has become our favorite pastime! Now, several years later, we have visited over 20 wineries in Minnesota and a handful in Wisconsin & Iowa. 

When we started looking for different wineries to visit, we struggled to find a comprehensive list of wineries in Minnesota. It is such a growing industry. We spent so much time going back and forth between google, yelp and facebook. It was irritating.  We created this website for others with similar interests. Here you will be able find a list of wineries in Minnesota and read our differing reviews of the wineries’ location, atmosphere, service and most importantly the wine!
